Despite the economic
downturn of 2001, the real estate market has continued to be strong in
western Washington County (Sherwood, Hillsboro, Forest Grove, Cornelius,
Banks, Aloha, Beaverton, Tigard, Tualatin, Lake Oswego).
Compared to 2000O, October data reveals a 1/2% drop in new listings, yet
11% more closed sales, and days on market down 11 days to 69, compared
with 80 in 2000 (data includes entire Portland Metro market)!
Values continued to climb, with an appreciation rate of 4.9% for the
Sherwood market.
All in all, the real estate market here is vibrant. Both homeowner and
investor alike enjoy good value for the purchase dollar, as well as good
returns when selling. |
